Latest Release - WGA with LegitCheckControl.dll ver. 1.9.9.0 !!!
Hi,
As on January 8th, 2009 Microsoft has released an updated version of Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool that contains v1.9.9.0 of the file: LegitCheckControl.dll.
First, I would like to thank the users of my work to inform me about this update.
I couldn't find any official release info on this updated version on their site, however, I have updated my release to ensure consistency with the official release and help all users to stay up-to-date.
You can use my WGA v1.9.9.0 (posted here and here) [pswd:SupremoPhantom] to continue downloading all critical and recommended updates from Microsoft.

I know v1.9.9.0 is a genuine microsoft release, as I have the original download link for it. :-)
As regards OGA v1.7.105.35, I personally checked just now and Microsoft is still at v1.6.28.0 for OGA.
Please provide the direct download link for OGA v1.7.105.35 from Microsoft's site source.
Pls confirm that you are using IE, NOT firefox to download updates as the OGA plugin for firefox may carry a different version that I am not tracking.

you get that in case of an improper/incomplete download.
redownload the file, without any download managers, and it should work for you.

If you have trouble to unrar it, install the latest version of WinRAR in XP and try again.
Also, try to "type" in the passcode instead of "Copy and Paste"
Do you have a crack for those running an Office 2007 trial on a Vista 64-bit machine? When I try to install your WGA _1990 crack file, even with anti-virus s/w turned off, I get a message saying "wgasetup.exe has stopped working". so it won't complete the install. any ideas on how to overcome this?

i found an interesting WSUS Product Team Blog article:

They talk about v1.7.104.0. Now, it's not a new post and it says "This update has since been removed from WSUS." But in reference to the OGA forum topic i have mentioned ms has still some "little" problems with this.

For the benefit of ALL:
WGA active-x control downloaded through the "http://microsoft.com/genuine" site has been updated to v1.9.9.0 now.
The version visible and downloaded from "http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=78651" is still showing v1.8.31.9 and has not been updated yet to reflect the latest release.
Rest assured, it is a genuine MS released version that can be verified. :-)

I am still looking for the official MS download link to that OGA version. I have the cracked file too, however, a crack can be released with any version no. which I strongly discourage. Personally, I like to keep my releases in line with the official MS versions.
My OGA release is a separate release from WGA, the last version I have released for OGA is v1.6.28.0 in accordance with MS. You can download it from the link shared on my previous post.
I haven't seen or used your work yet, however I do appreciate your efforts. Keep it up.

file properties of the file "legitcheckcontrol.dll" located in "c:\windows\system32" folder has a version tab, which will show the file version details.
you can check the version info for any file the same way.
About the MS page, you will need to ask MS, i have no idea. :-)

I have tried with with the lastest version of Vista Ultimate x64 and it does not work. I am getting the notification to activate vista every time I log on. It also turns my background to black.
I have tried wocarson's release for 1.9.9.0 and that does not work either.
I tried copying the Legit....dll tot eh sysWOW64 directory and that didn't work either.
has anyone got this to work with Vista 64-bit?

there are two different releases by ms. The "Windows Genuine Advantage Notification" (KB905474) and the "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation" (KB892130). It is right, the WGA Notification you have mentioned is still 1.8.31.9. It is an"addon" to the WGA Validation and contains the legitcheckcontrol.dll and some additional files. MS has now updated the WGA Validation to version 1.9.9.0. This release only contains the legitcheckcontrol.dll
And I thought I used plain simple English when I made the file ...

When did I ever say, its for Vista, or even tested on Vista ... and what in the world gave you the idea that this is a substitute for "activation". Windows Activation and Windows Genuine Advantage are two totally different things. You want an activation crack, look further.

WGA "validation" uses "legitcheckcontrol.dll"
WGA "notification" uses "WGATray.exe"
When WGA notification "offline installer" was last released, it contained v1.8.31.9 for all relevant files (legitcheckcontrol.dll, wgatray.exe, wgalogon.dll) however, as of today, the online active-x control file, "legitcheckcontrol.dll" has been upgraded to v1.9.9.0 and thats the version what you will find in my released files.

Mmh, it seems the legitcheckcontrol.dll 1.9.9.0 is not only for XP. I have installed Win 7 and made a test download yesterday. The validation check delivers that version.
you are right Shadowchaser, the active-x control is OS independant. it will work as designed, to validate a genuine windows key, on XP, VISTA and as you say, on Win 7. when you attempt to validate windows, the source for the file downloaded remains the same in all cases.

Pls refer to my post "BEWARE OF THE FAKE RELEASES !!!" and download the OGA crack as well. It will fix your situation for genuine office validation failure.
You need to have the latest copy of BOTH WGA and OGA to pass validation checks.

Yeah, wocarson has coming back with a UNCRACKED oga v1.7.105.35 crack. This means he is releasing a "crack" with the original NOT cracked ms files.

the version of OGA you have is (i think) pulled back by MS for now.
Download both my files for OGA v1.6.28.0 and WGA v1.9.9.1 (which i will release shortly) and you will be all set to download all windows and office updates through automatic updates.
i downloaded your OGA v1.6.28.0 and WGA v1.9.9.0.
is this two files install to C:\WINDOWS\system32? and when i install this two files, my AVG Antivirus Free scanned that they contain virus, the file name are OGASetup and WGASetup. are they really contain virus?

the installer of these two files automatically copies the needed files in the desired folder (c:\windows\system32).
AVG is showing a false positive for virus. disable AVG and run the crack, the files are virus-free and will work fine.
AVG detects a lot of genuine files as virus becuz of the packer used. I would suggest you change ur antivirus (dont ask me which, try nod32/symantec/mcafee etc).
i will be able pull out time to release my WGA v1.9.9.1 today. download that to use the latest work.

As for the request for a "transparent" installer, I am sorry, but I cannot comply...
wocarson has been stealing codes and files from my previous releases, manipulating them and releasing as his own... I do not wish to compromise my credibility.
Users who like his "copied" transparent installation (and possibly virus/spyware encoded future releases) are free to use his work.

yes you can only use the OGA crack and it will work for you. If however, you get the system notification installed that says that you have a pirated office, you will need to use WGA crack as well to fix that. However, when the next WGA update gets released, you wont need to download the WGA crack again and your genuine vista will continue to work normally.
